Umar Muhammed, Lafia
The Provost, College of Education Akwanga, Nasarawa State, Dr. Rebecca Umaru, has threatened to hand over students caught involving in cultist activities to the police.
Umaru made the statement at the 2016/2017 matriculation ceremony in the Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
She revealed that 4,150 students were matriculated, urging them to seek clarification on any matter from the relevant heads of departments and lecturers.
Umaru, however, warned students against social vices such as drug addiction, alcoholism, indecent dressing, examination malpractice, sexual harassment and stealing.
According to her, these vices are anti-progressive; hence, the management of the college would not tolerate the perpetrators.
She advised the students to improve their reading culture by making a good use of the library and the internet facilities in the college.
She said that the students should cultivate the spirit of friendship, loyalty, industry and excellence in order to make their stay in the college worthwhile.
She also warned all the lecturers in the college that the ban on the sales of handout was still on and anyone caught selling it would face disciplinary action.
