A former Director of Press in the Kogi State House of Assembly, David Ehimony, had been kidnapped by gunmen.
A family member told journalists on Thursday that the ex-director was abducted on Ayere-Ikare road on Wednesday.
The victim was going to Ikare, Ondo State, to pick his children from school when he abducted.
“He was taken away in his car along with his junior brother who drove the car,” the family said.
Ehimoni is the current Deputy Secretary of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON).
