Promising Heavyweight contender, Efe Ajagba scored yet another early TKO defeating Luke Lyons in the first round at Prudential Center, New Jersey on Saturday.
Ajagba, who was Nigeria’s sole representative at the Rio Olympics boxing event last year where he lost to Ivan Dychko in the quarterfinals, floored the previously unbeaten American twice on his way to his second successive knockout.
Ajagba, who is seen as a promising star in the heavyweight division knocked Lyons (5-1, 2 KOs) down first with a left to the body and then followed it up with a flurrly of body and head shots. After the second knockdown, Lyon got up but the referee had seen enought and called off the fight at 2 minutes 19 seconds
The 23-year-old powerhouse was an under-card for the IBF World Cruiser-weight Title clash between Murat Gassiev and Krzysztof Wlodarczyk
He took less than a minute to win his debut against Tyrell Herndon to win his professional debut at Bakersfield, California in July.
