For those of us who aren’t morning people and struggle to get up at the crack of dawn, it can seem baffling that there are some who leap out of bed every day, full of zest and energy. You may even feel slightly envious of this apparently magical ability.
But according to the advice of a behavioural psychologist and MOMA foods in the UK, this could be you if you follow seven basic steps, Mail Online reports.
Psychologist, Jo Hemmings from the UK, has created a science-backed routine that can apparently transform anyone into a morning person, even night owls.
So rather than keep hitting that snooze button, try out these seven tips for feeling fresh and awake first thing in the morning. Some are quite surprising…
7 steps to become a morning person
1. Sleeping on the left side of the bed
2. Wearing something yellow in bed
3. Setting your alarm to your favourite feel-good song
4. Exercise when you wake up (5mins)
5. Doing a headstand (2mins)
6. An ice-cold shower (3mins)
7. Slow energy release breakfast (5mins)
‘Instead of spending 18 minutes a morning hitting the snooze button, which can make us feel more tired and groggy, use that time to try out this simple routine to set you up for the day,’ Hemmings told Mail Online. ‘The formula includes elements to shake up your system.’
According to Hemmings, the steps will boost your energy, get blood to your brain and put a smile on your face.
Why not give it a go night owls? And you can enjoy that beautiful sunrise.
