The Oshoja family is seeking the support of well-meaning members of society to fill the vacant Olu of Ikeja stool.
Ikeja, the Lagos State capital, has been without a traditional ruler since Oba Rafiu Matemi joined his ancestors in 2014.
Members of the family visited Chief Francis Ipoola Olaniyan, the chairman of the chieftaincy title holders in Ikeja to seek support for its candidate.
Olaniyan, the proprietor of Victory Group of Schools, advised the family members to maintain peace as they wait for the installation of the new monarch.
The entourage was led by Alhaji Samsideen Adegboye Adeleye, who has been nominated by the five kingmakers. With him were Abdulfatai Anifowoshe, Omoseyi Akesan, Alhaji Adesina Balogun, Alhaji Aina Isiba and Mr Moses Vincent.
Anifowoshe hailed Chief Olaniyan for his contributions to Ikeja community in the area of education and his humane posture.
