The Nigerian Police, Kogi Command yesterday, said it will conduct an autopsy on the body of the late director in the state Teaching Service Commission (TSC), Edward Soje, who committed suicide.
Why it matters: Two reasons are claimed to have caused the death of Mr Soje. While one says he committed suicide after his wife gave birth to triplets, another says he killed himself because he was owed salary running into several months.
A disclaimer from the Kogi government, however, said he did not commit suicide because he was being owed, as “His pay was stopped after proof emerged that he falsified his age records. His confession to the offence is on video to justify government stoppage of his salary’’.
Now happening: The Kogi Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Williams Ayah said yesterday, that the command has decided on an autopsy to ascertain what actually led to his death.
Ayah, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), said that investigation has commenced on the matter.
