Former Rangers midfielder Arthur Ebunam predicts that Super Eagles will defeat the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon on Monday.
Ebunam told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu that his prediction was based on the Super Eagles performance in the last match on Friday with Indomitable Lions of Cameroon on Monday.
“The Super Eagles were able to handle the Indomitable Lions well and comfortably throughout the 90 minutes of play without losing steam.
“With the national team’s superlative performance so far, I am convinced that they will hold their ground in Cameroon on Monday.
“At worst, we will get a draw but I still believe the Super Eagles will beat Cameroon even in their own soil,’’ he said.
Irrespective of this prediction, Ebunam, who was special adviser on sports to Anambra State government, advised the Super Eagles technical crew to keep the present crop of players together.
“They should be kept together to continue to understand each other and build better synergy during the field of play,’’ he said.
NAN reports that the Nigeria’s Super Eagles beat Indomitable Lions of Cameroon 4-0 in a 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on Friday.
The goals from Odion Ighalo, Mikel Obi, Victor Moses and Kelechi Iheanacho, rendered the African Champions Indomitable Lions helpless and unable to roar.
