Coach Salisu Yusuf has said the CHAN Eagles will this week play series of warm-up matches against local clubs.
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr, as gathered, will join the team’s training camp in Kano also this week.
“We will play some friendlies against some local teams later this week to ascertain how much the players have understood what we have tried to teach them so far,” coach Yusuf said.
“The opposition is not what really matters. What is most important is what my team show during these test games.”
Yusuf also confirmed that Rohr is expected to be part of the CHAN Eagles training soon.
“He will be with us but we have not agreed on a date yet,” he disclosed.
The training camp reopen today after NPFL matches at the weekend.
Benin, who will battle Nigeria for a place in next year’s CHAN in Kenya, have scheduled a friendly against Cote d’Ivoire in Cotonou this weekend preparatory to the CHAN playoff.
