The Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) said on Saturday it would conduct its Anambra State governorship primaries on July 22.
The Anambra State governorship election holds November 18.
The PPA Chairman, Mr. Peter Ameh, announced the date at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja when he received the party’s governorship aspirant, Mr. Godwin Ezeemo, who was at the party secretariat to pick nomination and expression of interest forms.
Ameh described Ezeemo as a worthy party member who has shown faith with the party over the years.
He said: “As it stands, he is ready to participate in the July 22, 2017 party primaries. We will be the first party to conduct primaries and we will start our campaign ahead of all other political parties.
“What we will be looking at is the quality of the candidate. A candidate that has character and ready to fight corruption.
“First and foremost like I told you, we are working on a system that ensure people must participate in party primaries. People don’t just jump ships and say they are going to contest elections.”
