35 killed in Ogun auto accidents

The Corps Commander, Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE),  Seni Ogunyemi, said on Monday that 35 persons have died from road accidents in the state in the last two months.

He said 51 road accidents were recorded in June out of which 13 persons died, 95 injured and 447 traffic offenders arrested.

“As at July 30, 47 road accidents occurred. In these crashes, 22 persons died and 88 injured,” Ogunyemi said.

The corps commander said 479 persons were arrested for offences ranging from violation of traffic rules and driving without license, among others.

He urged road users in the state to be cautious on the highways.

He also advised motorists to always fasten their seat belt while driving and ensure they had “C-Caution’’ in their vehicles to prevent articulated vehicles from ramming into them.
