The Ads Targeting Vulnerable Republicans Who Voted For Obamacare Repeal Are Already Beginning

WASHINGTON ― As Republicans narrowly voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act on Thursday, their Democratic colleagues immediately warned that they would face electoral consequences, singing “hey, hey, hey, goodbye” on the House floor

Over the weekend, GOP lawmakers already began to experience fallout in response to their vote, with constituents and progressive groups mobilizing at town halls and donating money to support the campaigns of their Democratic opponents.

Now, they are facing the first of likely many campaign ads that highlight the consequences of the repeal bill’s most dangerous provisions. The ads implore constituents to hold their representatives’ feet to the fire.

The health care advocacy group Save My Care on Monday unveiled a more than half-a-million-dollar television and digital ad campaign targeting 24 vulnerable GOP House members who voted for the “disastrous” bill, asking: “How could you do this to us?”

Watch an example of the ad above.

Similar versions will run in other districts this week.
