Patricia Bonaldi’s PatBo to Launch in the U.S.

In Brazil, Patricia Bonaldi is a household name — with eight brick-and-mortar stores and distribution in more than 10 countries, her collection Patricia Bonaldi is pretty established. “I was born in a small town in the countryside of Brazil and grew up in Uberlândia, where I opened Patricia Bonaldi, a namesake multibrand store. My clients started requesting custom-made gowns, which quickly turned into an eveningwear collection,” she said. “I was the first Brazilian designer to be picked up by Harrods.” This season, with her sights focused on expansion into the U.S., Bonaldi is introducing PatBo — an extension of her namesake brand that she will launch Statewide for fall 2017. “PatBo incorporates trends with fearlessness to experiment; mixing materials, patterns and colors resulting in a ready-to-wear and swim line with beautiful embroideries and bold statement pieces,” she explained. The collection will have a broad price range sitting in the designer/advanced contemporary space with T-shirts and swimwear at entry price points, then going up with separates and dresses all the way to hand-embroidered gowns. PatBo will be sold on the brand’s e-commerce site and key wholesale accounts with plans for freestanding stores in New York and Los Angeles in 2018.
