More Than 5,600 Pounds Of Beef, Pork And Veal Recalled For E. Coli

Pennsylvania-based Marcho Farms is recalling about 5,620 pounds of beef, veal and meat products that may be contaminated with E. coli, according to the United States Department of Agriculture.

The meat was sold in bulk-sized cases to stores and food service locations in six states including Illinois, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia. It could be tainted with a potentially deadly strain of the bacteria that can cause dehydration, diarrhea and cramps, especially in kids and older adults. However, no illnesses have yet been reported from eating the recalled products, which include 60-pound cases of veal trimmings and nine- and 10-pound cases of ground veal, beef and pork.

Customers who purchased the products are encouraged to throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.
