L’Oréal and Suez Sign MoU on Environmental Management

PARIS — L’Oréal and Suez have signed a memorandum of understanding on environmental performance and resource management at the French beauty group’s sites, the companies said jointly in a statement on Tuesday. The three-year agreement, which is renewable, covers L’Oréal’s industrial, administrative and research centers in France, as well as abroad. The companies said they “have decided to promote innovative solutions to favor sustainable production, to work together to tackle climate change, protect oceans and water resources, and preserve natural resources and biodiversity, and to promote the circular economy.” To meet this end, Suez will work with L’Oréal to develop solutions to reach a neutral or positive water footprint for some L’Oréal sites; help improve the renewable energy mix, and increase reuse and recycling of waste. “In the longer-term, Suez and L’Oréal will work together to identify and develop operational innovations that could further improve resource protection and regional integration, particularly by focusing on biodiversity, ecodesign, digitization, material reuse and recovery in L’Oréal’s production process, ‘factory of the future’ concepts and the circular economy,” the companies said.
