In the video, the pop star can be seen telling Prince William she’s a fan of Head’s Together – the mental health awareness campaign he spearheads alongside wife Catherine and brother Harry. William responded by saying the three believe it’s vital to tackle the issue of stigma around mental health problems, and praised Lady Gaga for her commitment to the cause.
The Prince spoke about the importance of those with mental health issues speaking out, saying it’s ‘Really important to have this conversation – you won’t be judged – it’s so important to break open that fear, that taboo…
‘It’s time that everyone speaks up and feels very normal about mental health – It’s the same as physical health. Everybody has mental health and we shouldn’t be ashamed of it, and having a conversation with a friend or family member can make such a difference.’
As the pair came to the end of their almost five minute discussion, they made plans to meet in person to discuss the issue further when Lady Gaga visits the UK later this year.
Now that’s what we call a coming together of minds. And all the better – it’s in aid of a truly important cause.
