Why UNILAG Students Protested Yesterday
UNILAG students staged a protest on Monday demanding for the reinstatement of the ULSU 11 amongst other demands.
The ULSU 11 are the students rusticated by the school management for protesting last year.
The aggrieved students expressed their dissatisfaction with the management of the University revealing that the Vice-chancellor of the institution, Professor Rahman Bello has failed them.
The demands of the students are:
- Reinstate UNILAG 11 unconditionally NOW.
- End to all anti-democracy and anti-students policy.
- Restoration of the UNILAG student’s union.
- Improve welfare conditions on campus.
- Stop victimization of postgraduate students.
- Reverse all outrageous accommodation fee and fictitious laboratory fee.
- Government should fund education adequately at least 26% of budgetary allocation.
