After years of skinny jeans, boyfriend jeans and flares, there’s a new denim trend on the block – and it will definitely appeal to those of us with a love of colour. That’s right, embroidered jeans – which last caused a fashion stir back in the ’90s – are back with a vengeance. And, to be honest, we’re pretty happy about it.
You might remember embroidered jeans being a big teen trend, with butterflies and stars galore, but this time they’re (thankfully) more grown-up, with elaborate patterns and detailed florals. On the catwalks, Gucci was leading the embroidered-denim charge, teaming the look with sequinned tops and patent boots.
But, of course, you can keep it more low-key, keeping your top and shoes very simple to let your jeans do the talking. There are some really gorgeous embroidered jeans on the high street right now. Here are a few of our favourites…
1. Light denim
2. Dark denim
3. Washed denim
4. White denim
