On Sunday, Kourt shared a snap of her and her daughter snuggled on the couch in bathrobes watching the awards show. The photo looks pretty normal except for one notable accessory: Four-year-old Penelope is sporting a lip ring.
“Our Oscar Sunday. Yes, that’s a lip ring. Thanks @kimkardashian,” she captioned the shot, in reference to the faux lip accessory Kim’s been sporting in recent months.
While the shot seems totally innocuous, people on Instagram were quick to criticize the lip ring. Comments ranged from, “WHAT’S ON HER LIP?” to “OMG why?” to “Why would you put that on a child?” to “God that's probably not even real. Calm down.”
Although we're not 100 percent certain, we're still pretty sure that the ring isn't an actual piercing. And while lots of parents pierce their children's ears, it seems lip rings on kids—real or fake—cross a line for many people. What do you think?
