The Federal High Court sitting is Calabar, Cross River, has sentenced a 41 -year -old man, Emmanuel Edet Eyo, to 15 years imprisonment for being in possession of 1.9 grams of cocaine, 15.5 grams of heroin and 1.7 kilograms of cannabis sativa.
A charge sheet with number FHC/CA/32C/2016 signed by the Prosecutor for the Attorney General of the Federation, Ella Chekwube Ordiah, said the convict was found in possession of the three substances on June 18, 2016 at a ghetto joint in Ikang, Bakassi local government area of Cross River.
After hearing counsels for the prosecution and defendant, Justice Inyang Ekwo, ordered that the convicted person be sentenced to five years imprisonment without option of fine on count one, five years on count two and five years on count three, all without the option of fine.
According to the judge, the sentence takes effect from June 18, 2016.
