A former beauty queen was lucky to escape alive after her car caught fire and burst into flames in Lagos.
Former beauty queen turned fashion designer, Maryam Elisha has cause to give thanks to God when she escaped death after her Mercedes-Benz G-Class burst into flames on top of the Eko Bridge in Lagos.
Elisha, the Chief Executive Officer of Rikaoto by ME, was said to be on the wheels of the vehicle when the incident occurred and she just managed to escape being burnt alive while the G-Wagen was destroyed by the fire.

SDK reports that the inferno which happened on Sunday, March 12, 2017, took the 2007 Miss Valentine Beauty Pageant winner by surprise when she was alerted to the fire by other road users.
The Kebbi State-born Elisha who confirmed the fire incident on phone, said she had tried to stop the car after being alerted to the fire but the brakes failed.
“When the car eventually started to slow down, I put it on the park and tried to open the door, which wouldn’t open until people came to my aid and helped me out before the fire spread everywhere,” she was quoted as saying.
Before she came into limelight, Elisha was scouted by an agent while in secondary school and eventually worked as a model for close to eight years, becoming the maiden face of Airtel Nigeria when it was called Vmobile.

She also modeled for other top brands like Delta Soap, Sterling Bank in Nigeria, MTN Nigeria, Lucozade Boost and Diamond Bank before she won the Miss Valentine and then ventured into designing.
