The unfortunate death of a middle-aged man and his teenage son has been reported.
A middle-aged man and his teenage son have been reported to have died inside a well they were digging at Gidan-Filani village in Sokoto State.
The victims, Malam Umar, and his son, Abubakar, lost their lives on Wednesday, March 15, 2016, Punch reports.

According to eyewitnesses, the pair had dug the well up to nine feet when one side of the well collapsed on Abubakar, who was inside the well at the time.
A panicking Umar jumped into the well in an attempt to save his son's life but not of them came out alive.
Visiting the scene of the tragic incident, the Secretary, Tippers Drivers Association, (Sokoto Chapter), Alhaji Abu Maitifas, said that the bodies of the deceased were retrieved by personnel of the Sokoto State Fire Service.
Maitifas said that the victims who hailed from Lokobi village in Wamakko Local Government, have been buried.

Confirming the incident, the Director-General of the Fire Service, Alhaji Ibrahim Dingyadi, described it as “unfortunate”.
