Dayo Adeneye gives celebrates his long friendship with Kenny Ogungbe.
Veteran media personality Dayo 'D1' Adeneye is celebrating thirty years of friendship with Kenny 'Keke' Ogungbe.
Dayo Adeneye thanked God for him and Kenny Ogungbe's fruitful and long partnership today, Friday, March 10, 2017. "It's been 30+ years of friendship, discovery, adventures, business and everything in between. From OGBC to Southern University (USA), Raypower /AIT, Primetime Entertainment, Kennis music etc Grammys etc. We thank God and we keep moving" he wrote on his Instagram page.
Dayo 'D1' Adeneye and Kenny 'Keke' Ogungbe have played a significant role in the rise of Nigerian music. The duo started 'AIT Jamz' music show in 1998 that gave birth to the rise of Nigerian music stars such as 2face Idibia, Plantashun Boyz, Toni Tetuila, Paul 'Play Dairo', Remedies, Eedris Abdulkareem and others.
In the same year, they established Kennis Music, the record label that would go on to rejuvenate Nigerian pop music. For close to a decade, Kennis Music was the leading record label in the country.
After leaving AIT, Keke and D1 created Primetime Entertainment, their own production company. They continued with Primetime Jamz and dominated music TV for a long while.
While Baba Keke is still very much into broadcasting, D1 has moved into politics. He is now the Commissioner of Information and Strategy in Ogun state
