Dr Emmanuel Ogah murdered his own mother because she scolded him

The police in Ogun State have arrested a medical doctor who stabbed his biological mother to death because she scolded him publicly.

The Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 30-year-old medical doctor, Emmanuel Ogah, for allegedly stabbing his own mother to death for scolding him publicly.

Punch reports that Ogah was arrested on Thursday, March 9, 2017, after he murdered his mother at their residence at 16, Ololade Street, Lafenwa, Itele Ota area of the State.

While confirming the incident and the arrest of the suspect, the State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi said that the accused elder brother lodged a complaint at the Itele Ota Division and the police swiftly moved in and arrested Ogah.

“The Ogun State Police Command has on the 9th of March, arrested one Dr. Emmanuel Ogah for stabbing his biological mother to death.

He was arrested following a complaint from one Cletus Ogah who reported at Itele Ota Divisional headquarters that his younger brother had stabbed his mother, one Janet Ogah, to death,” ASP Oyeyemi said.

The police spokesman added that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect who had just completed his NYSC program, came back home three days earlier and had been engaged in constant quarrels with his mother.

“In his statement, the suspect claimed that his mother was in the habit of insulting and disgracing him in the presence of her apprentices and that he was frustrated into taking the life of his mother.”

According to Oyeyemi, the body of the 62-year-old deceased was deposited at the General Hospital Morgue for an autopsy, while the suspect would be charged to court at the conclusion of investigations.
