Sunshine Stars will be unduly debited from the fund remittable to the club from the LMC at the end of the season.
Players of Nigeria Professional Football League side (NPFL) Sunshine Stars have received 50% of their owed salaries from the league organisers, League Management Company (LMC).
Sunshine Stars players were being owed seven months salaries by the Ondo State Government, owners of the club.
The players who have twice taken to the street to protest the non-payment of their salaries have now received 50% of it, paid by the LMC.
According to the LMC, Sunshine Stars will be unduly debited from the fund remittable to the club from the LMC at the end of the season.
The LMC have also set up a verification panel to look into Sunshine Star’s financial records upon suspicions of breach of provisions of the League Rules in respect of overdue payables.
Sunshine Stars players, however, had to apologise to the LMC for not complying with relevant provisions of League Rules in addressing issues of financial dispute with their employers.
The LMC has however accepted an apology letter signed by Sunshine Stars captain, Sunday Abe and vice-captain, Adeniyi Alaba pledging to abide by the laid down process of enforcing their rights.
The apology was conveyed in a letter signed by Sunshine Stars captain Sunday Abe and vice, Adeniyi Alaba.
The players have also resumed training for their Sunday, February 26 home NPFL game against Rivers United.
Sunshine Stars are 17th on the NPFL table.
