Sunshine Stars FC players have not been paid their salaries for five months by Ondo State, owners of the club.
Players of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club, Sunshine Stars of Akure on Friday, February 10 took to the streets to protest the non-payment of their salaries.
The players have not been paid their salaries for five months by Ondo State, owners of the club.
After a consistent plea to get their entitlements, the players on Friday took to the streets and marched Governor Olusegun Mimiko.
At Governor’s Mimiko’s office, the players were addressed by his deputy, Lasisi Oluboyo who promised to look into their issues.
The players last season also embarked on a street protest for the non-payment of their salaries.
The players are scared that the transition of governments in Ondo State will delay their salaries.
Governor Mimiko’s government will soon give way to Governor-elect Rotimi Akeredolu.
