The absence of Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Monday again stalled the trial involving former Governor of Benue, Gabriel Suswan.
Sources said that the judge was absent due to ill health.
Suswan and his Finance Commissioner, Mr Omadachi Oklobia, were arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission for allegedly diverting N3.1bn belonging to the Benue Government.
The EFCC accused the defendants of diverting proceeds of the sale of shares owned by the Benue Government and Benue Investment and Property Company Limited, for their personal use.
The prosecution and defence counsel were present in court and the trial was fixed for March 28, for the continuation of trial.
At the last adjourned date, the prosecution counsel Mr Rotimi Jacobs (SAN), was absence in court, on assumption that the judge would not sit as a result of the accident he had sometimes last year.
The adjournment was not opposed by Dave Iorhemba, who represented Mr J.B. Daudu (SAN) the lead defence counsel to Suswam.
