For the street-style set, blending in is not an option. Exhibitors at UBM Fashion’s MAGIC trade show targeted social influencers — and their followers — with outspoken, Technicolor fur coats, bags and trims for fall collections. The idea of social-friendly pieces permeated the show: Powerhouse, colored fur options constantly eclipsed minimalist and understated coats. Pleasant surprises included Zadig & Voltaire’s camouflage-printed coat. The piece was upgraded with the use of rich, navy blues and forest greens compared to the classic army color palette. Biannual’s electric, coral-red-and-white, color-blocked shag coat made quite the first impression and seemed to be begging for an Instagram tag. Other pieces of note included MinkPink’s banana yellow cropped number, a multicolored pouch by One by Love by Diego Binetti, and a graphic patchwork version by Peri Luxe. Colored fur trims on puffer coats also contributed an unexpected aspect to men’s outerwear. Especially of note was Moose Knuckles’ puffer coat for the gents that boasted a baby pink fur trim on its hood. Fendi, Salvatore Ferragamo, Gucci, Versace and Rodarte all had punch-packed furs on display for fall 2016.
