Beautifully blow-dried hair can make us feel powerful and polished at business meetings, perfectly finish off an outfit in time for an event or just act as a great pick-me-up after a busy week at your work. But to make this special treat last a bit longer, we recommend the following:
1. Take shorter showers…
…and wear a shower cap while you’re in there. We should all be cutting down on shower time because of the water restrictions, but as an added incentive, remember that heat and steam can cause hair to frizz, undoing the sleek effect of a blow-dry.
2. Avoid touching your hair
It’s hard to resist running your fingers through your silky-soft locks, but it’s worth it, we promise. Oily fingertips (we all have them) will result in limp-looking hair, so stick to a hairbrush for the next couple of days.

3. Refresh with dry shampoo
Few things will ruin a fresh blow-dry quite as quickly as sweat, and with summer in full swing it can be hard to avoid. Luckily, dry shampoos are designed to absorb oil and sweat, so apply small amounts to your hairline and brush through. Out of dry shampoo? Baby powder works just as well.
4. Sleep on a silk pillowcase
Regular pillowcases have been known to dry out both hair AND skin, something that is detrimental to an anti-ageing routine. While experts advise silk pillowcases to lock in moisture while we sleep, we found that these clever investments also reduce hair tangles and pulling. We love these locally made, 100% pillowcases from http://thesilklady.com.
