In the interview, Rohr recalls visiting the popular Balogun Market and loving the experience.
“We went to Balogun market, it was wonderful and a big crowd and some people spoke about football. ‘You must beat Cameroon’ they kept telling me,” Rohr said in the interview on the official Youtube channel of the Super Eagles.
In a funny revelation, Rohr said he took photos which he will send to Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun because his shares the same name with the market.
“I took a photo because I will send it to Leon Balogun. His father comes from there, I think,” Rohr added.
“I had a beautiful day in Lagos. In this big city, very nice people, everybody is big on hospitality.”
“I spend some time in Lagos, I have seen not only the final of the Confederation Cup. I saw the Super Cup final in Abuja before coming back to Lagos.”
After his appointment, Rohr was given a three-bedroom apartment in Abuja by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The issue of basing in Nigeria was a controversial one for former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh who insisted that he will remain in Europe.
Rohr, however, has been staying in Nigeria and once revealed he to stay in Nigeria just like he did in other African countries he had coached in the past.
“When the federation engaged me and told me I had to live in Nigeria, I agreed to it because I believed that my base has to be in the country where I work,” he said.
“I did the same in Niger, Burkina Faso and Gabon, and I do not see it any differently in Nigeria.”
