Cisse is retiring to focus on his career as a DJ and also develop his clothing brand ‘Mr Lenoir’.
Former Liverpool and France striker Djibril Cisse has announced his retirement from football to become a full-time DJ.
In a career that spanned 17 years, Cisse played for Auxerre, Liverpool, Marseille, Sunderland, Panathinaikos, Lazio and Queens Park Rangers.
The 35-year-old last played for Saint-Pierroise but has now decided to fit to focus on his career as a DJ and also work on his clothing brand ‘Mr Lenoir’.
The former France international previously announced his retirement in 2016 due to a long-term hip injury but made a comeback following a successful surgery.
“I loved being a footballer, and so far the ball has been my life,” Cisse told Yahoo Sports.
“I would have liked to continue playing but I must admit today that football is over.
“With the same passion, I will devote myself wholeheartedly to my career as DJ, producer and consultant, as well as developing my clothing brand.
“Thank you for all your support. The adventure continues, another life begins. A lion never dies.”
He scored 24 goals for Liverpool and won the Champions League with the Reds in 2005.
He played for 11 clubs and made 41 appearances for France.
