Moroccan kickboxer Badr Hari, who is a close friend of Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has been sentenced to two years in jail for assault.
Hari and Ronaldo are very close friends and were even rumoured to be in a gay relationship.
The kickboxer was convicted on two counts of aggravated assault from two violent incidences in Amsterdam in 2011 and 2012.
The 32-year-old was involved in an attack at the Amsterdam Arena and another at a nightclub.
Hari was not present in court when the sentence was announced and he will be expected to travel to his homeland Morocco to serve his sentence.
He is expected to serve around six months of the sentence.
Hari is a respected kickboxer winning the K1 Heavyweight champion (2007-2008) and the Showtime heavyweight (2009-2010).
A French journalist Estelle Denis in 2015 alleged that Hari and Ronaldo were lovers, claiming that the Real Madrid star took frequent trips in his private jet to Morocco to visit his gay partner HarI.

Ronaldo and Hari often share photos of their time together. Hari raised eyebrows with a captain on one of the photos of himself and Ronaldo on Facebook.
“Just married, always there to pick you up, bro,” Hari wrote.
