Madagascar FA boss Ahmad has revealed that NFF president Pinnick is backing him for FIFA presidency.
President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick is backing Madagascar FA boss Ahmad Ahmad to unseat Issa Hayatou as president of Confederation of African Football.
Ahmed who is also the vice-president of the Madagascar senate is seeking election to become the president of CAF.
The CAF presidential election holds on Thursday, March 16 in Ethiopia.
Ahead of the election, Ahmed has revealed that NFF president, Pinnick is backing him ahead of the elections.
“NFF president President Amaju Pinnick is a close ally and he supports my bid to head CAF,” Ahmad said in an interview with Brillia FM.
Speaking further, the Madagascan football chief said his bid to become CAF boss is not a personal battle against Hayatou but to bring change to African football.
“I'm preparing for the CAF election like any other election. We want change in the Confederation,” he added.
“We need a reform in the finance programme of CAF. We want ex-footballers to join the body.
“I'm not going after Issa Hayatou or replacing him, the goal is to change the system.”

Ahead of the CAF elections, Pinnick is also vying for a seat in CAF Football Executive Committee board to displace the incumbent and long standing member Anjorin Moucharafou who is also the head of Benin Republic Football Federation.
Cameroon football executive Hayatou is seeking reelection into the position he has held since 1988.
