Eat foods that are high in vitamin C, including kiwi, papaya, orange, strawberries, broccoli and cauliflower. Vitamin C is important for collagen in the bones, muscles, skin and blood vessels as well as aids iron absorption. Aim to get 100mg (found in one and a half kiwi fruits) daily during pregnancy, and increase that to 135mg (equivalent to three cups of strawberries) when breastfeeding.
