Okorie who is the Nigeria’s only junior cyclist in the team has won bronze in the junior girl’s individual time trial.
Nigeria have won their first medal at the ongoing 2017 Africa Continental Road Championship in Luxor, Egypt.
Nigeria have right cyclists at the championship and got their first medal through Jacinta Okorie.
Okorie who is the Nigeria’s only junior cyclist in the team won bronze in the junior girl’s individual time trial.
He covered 15km to finish first after Ethiopian cyclists who finished first and second.
In the junior boys’ category, Algeria came first with Morocco and Ethiopia trailing in second and third positions.
The senior boys and girls individual time trial races hold on Thursday, February 16.
Nigeria did not get any medal in the senior girls’ and boys’ categories, finishing fourth and eighth respectively.
The championship will end on Sunday, February 19.
