Veteran Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade in a new interview with Ademola Olonilua, talked about winning her first AMVCA and Leah Sharibu who was abducted by Boko Haram.

Here are excerpts from the interview with Omotola Jalade;

Why did you take a break from the movie industry?

I was focusing on some other things which were based on building. I felt that it was the right time for the stakeholders in the industry to begin to invest in the industry aside from producing movies. My first love was not producing movies.

I like real estate and I studied Estate Management. I actually do real estate as a business and I thought about how I could merge real estate and entertainment. That is what I wanted to do.

I wanted to do real estate in entertainment and that is what I fell back into. I just want to get properties and begin to think of the process of building cinemas, film studios or film villages.

On Leah Sharibu, Omotola Jalade said;

It is very sad, especially as I read something (about her) recently. I do not know if it is true, but someone from the Presidency said that it is only God that can help her now. I am not very sure because sometimes there are false news reports on the internet.

If it is true that was said, then that is very sad for this country. It does not matter if Leah Sharibu was a Christian or a Muslim neither does it matter if she was a boy or a girl, the fact is that a Nigerian child is involved and she is innocent.

We all have children. They are just about to start their life and they do not have any fault in what Nigeria has become today. Imagine a child who is below 18 years of age facing such things. Nigeria is supposed to protect its children.

How do we sleep every day knowing that we have the power to do something but we are not (doing it)? I do not understand how we investigate things in Nigeria. I do not see how difficult it is to find her.

I feel that people are just careless about this girl and it will be very sad if anything happens to her. I almost have no hope for Nigeria because I do not think that there is going to be any protest over her abduction.

I just want people to have the fear of God; that is if they truly believe He exists and if they don’t, they should know that they have children too and they do not know when karma would come for them. They should find that girl and bring her home.

2019: Why Retired Generals Are Opposing Buhari – General Jemibewon

A retired army officer, Major General David Jemibewon, has revealed why some retired Generals are against President Buhari administration.

Jemibewon said that Buhari was getting the opposition’s criticism so that he can enhance his performance and meet the needs of Nigerians who voted him into power.

Generals Olusegun Obasanjo, Ibrahim Babangida, T.Y Danjuma, among others have in one occasion or the other lambasted the present administration for various reasons.

But speaking with the Sun, Jemibewon said Some Generals may feel disappointed but not necessarily in every aspect.

He said, “Personally, I feel that governance is not an easy thing but there are times that you just need to do the right thing and some people may feel hurt by your actions.

“That is the only way you could make the society happy and for them to feel that you are just. Some Generals may feel disappointed but not necessarily in every respect.

“Life itself is full of ups and downs but let us see positive actions to show that one is in charge.

“I am not certain that it is every aspect that the Generals you mentioned are not happy with the administration.

“And in any case, what has probably influenced them to make whatever statements they have made is because of esprit de corps.

“If you want somebody to succeed, you have to criticize him if you are not satisfied with his performance on a particular subject.

“So, for the Generals criticizing him, I am not sure it means they are abandoning him. I feel that they want him to do well because let us be honest, he is one of us and if he does well, it will rub off on us. If he does not do well, it will rub off on us.

“I think that it is that training that connects all of us. That is probably why they are expressing their opinion but that does not mean they are not supporting him. I think that they feel that by criticizing him, he will improve.”

TOO BAD: Father And Son Defile Neighbour’s Daughter Till She Gets Pregnant

A 39-year-old driver, Dare Omoju, has been arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, for allegedly impregnating the 14-year-old daughter of his neighbor in Akure, Ondo State.

The State Commandant of NSCDC, Pedro Awili, revealed that the girl had allegedly been earlier molested and defiled by the suspect’s son, Femi before he took over and impregnated her.

“Presently the girl is two months pregnant,” Awili said. Narrating how the escapade started, the victim, who is now moving to SS 2, claimed that Omoju had been sleeping with her since she was in JSS 3.

“The first time, he gave me N500 and N300 in the second time. The first time he slept with me was when I came to play with his daughter who is my age mate and I slept off that day while I was sleeping in the night he came to where I slept in the sitting room and raped me.

There was a day I was with his daughter in his house also, he sent his daughter on an errand and while I was still in their house, he slept with me before his daughter came back.

It was my mother that discover the pregnancy when I was sitting around before she took me to the hospital for the test. And when the test showed positive I was forced to confess who made me pregnant before I told my parents that it was Omoju that pregnant me,” she said.
