The 2017 Met Gala took place on 1 May at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the stars came dressed for the occasion. The theme was Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between, honouring Japanese designer Rei Kawakubo, who founded the label Comme des Garçons and is known for pushing boundaries in the fashion world.
Rei Kawakubo became the first living designer since Yves Saint Laurent in 1983 to be the sole subject of the Met’s fashion exhibit. Many came dressed for the occasion and owned the night with their looks while others, in our opinion, took it much too far and ended up looking a little crazy.
